Does kidney disease cause pain?

A dull ache in my side, sometimes radiating to my back, has been quite persistent. My friend suggested it could be a kidney issue. Do problems with kidneys typically cause noticeable pain?

Yes, it can cause a dull ache in your back or sides. My brother had this and a simple ultrasound helped identify the issue early, so please get that done.

I have PCOS and usually get lower back pain during my cycles, so it is hard to tell what pain comes from where. If the pain feels deep and is in your upper back near the ribs, it could be kidneys, but only a doctor can tell you for sure.

When my son had a kidney infection last year, he complained of sharp pain in his back and had a high fever. Don't panic, but do get a urine test and ultrasound done so the doctor can start the right treatment if there is any infection.

I have this constant thoda pain on the left side of my lower back and I am super worried it is a kidney problem. Did anyone else have pain that felt like a muscle pull but turned out to be kidney issues? Please share your experience.

Pain in the kidney area should never be ignored because it can be an infection or stones. Please don't wait for it to get worse or try home remedies. Go to a proper clinic and get a doctor's opinion immediately.
