Does kidney disease cause diarrhea?

Bouts of diarrhea on and off for a while are quite draining for me. I also feel generally unwell sometimes. Is diarrhea a symptom that can be linked to kidney disease?

While diarrhea can happen due to various reasons like stomach infections, in kidney patients it can sometimes be a sign of toxin buildup or medication side effects. For your safety, please consult your nephrologist to get an accurate diagnosis.

Do not treat this with random over-the-counter anti-diarrhea pills or home remedies, as some of them can be harmful to struggling kidneys. You must verify the cause with a proper doctor through blood and stool tests.

Chronic diarrhea can really drain your electrolytes, which is dangerous if you have kidney issues since your body is already struggling with mineral balance. Don't try to sweat it out or exercise. Rest up and let a medical expert handle your fluid levels.

Since kidney treatments are already very heavy on the pocket, don't ignore diarrhea and let it become an emergency which will cost way more. Get a simple, low-cost stool routine test done and show it to your government hospital doctor to save on expenses.

Omg, diarrhea with kidney issues would make me so anxious about dehydration and electrolyte imbalance! I would be calling the doctor every hour. Please monitor how many times it's happening and call your doc just to be safe.

My doctor explained that uremic gastroenteritis is a condition where high toxin levels in chronic kidney disease cause inflammation in the gut, leading to diarrhea. It is a serious symptom that needs to be discussed with your specialist to adjust your treatment plan.

In advanced kidney stages, high urea levels can irritate the gastrointestinal tract and cause loose stools. Also, some kidney medications or phosphate binders can trigger it. Keep yourself hydrated with safe fluids like ORS and inform your clinic.

It is so exhausting and emotionally draining to deal with gut issues on top of managing kidney health. I completely understand how frustrating this feels. Please don't lose heart, just talk to your care team and they will help you balance your gut.

Haan na, kidney patient ke liye loose motions hona bohot kamzori de deta hai. Safe rehne ke liye doctor se ek baar pooch kar hi koi dawa lena, khud se mat lena please.

Humare yahan ek buzurg ko aisi takleef thi jab unki kidney kamzor hui thi. Doctor ne bataya tha ki dawaon ki wajah se bhi aesa ho jata hai. Unhone dawayen badli toh pet bilkul theek ho gaya.
