Does inductive effect increase acidity?

As a chemistry enthusiast, I often discuss various concepts with students. A question came up about organic acids. From a theoretical perspective, does the inductive effect typically increase or decrease acidity in molecules?

Are you asking about chemical acidity in organic chemistry? If you are actually asking because you are having severe stomach acidity and pain, please see a doctor immediately. I ignored my stomach pain thinking it was normal acidity, and it turned out to be a severe ulcer complication.

I got so confused reading this, is this about chemistry exams or stomach issues? I always overthink my acid reflux and search terms like this on Google. If it's stomach acidity, drinking cold milk helps me, but please consult a doctor if you are feeling unwell.

Assuming this is about physical health, please don't sit and research theories. I kept searching for chemistry-like reasons for my gastric issues for a year, ignoring a growing infection. Go get a proper stomach checkup before it gets worse.

If this is a chemistry doubt, please refer to a textbook. If you are trying to find some scientific explanation for your chronic stomach acidity, please don't self-diagnose using complex terms. Go to a gastroenterologist and get a proper prescription.

Man, my chemistry exams are long gone, but my stomach's acidity levels are currently off the charts because of my 4 AM sleeping habits and black coffee. If you are talking about chemistry, yes, -I effect increases acidity. If you are talking about stomach, please sleep on time!

This sounds like my college chemistry syllabus! But lately, my stomach acidity has been so bad, I feel a burning in my throat every night. Does anyone else get this chest burning even after eating very light food? It is making me so anxious.

This sounds like a chemistry question about molecules! But if you are suffering from stomach acid, eating a clean vegetarian diet with lots of cucumber, melons, and avoiding spicy masala will cure it naturally. Avoid tea on an empty stomach.

If you are having severe stomach issues, don't waste money on random fancy antacids from the market. Get a basic consultation at a government hospital or local clinic first, it is very pocket-friendly and they will tell you if you need any cheap test like an H. Pylori check.

In organic chemistry, a electron-withdrawing negative inductive (-I) effect definitely increases the acidity of a compound by stabilizing the conjugate base. But if you meant body acidity, try tracking your food on MyFitnessPal to see what triggers it. Keeping a food log really helps identify reflux triggers.

In organic chemistry, the electron-withdrawing inductive effect increases the acidic strength of carboxylic acids. For our body's acidity, my mother used to give us fennel seeds water. However, if your stomach acidity is constant, please consult a medical doctor for proper advice.
