Does impetigo cause fever?

My younger sister developed some red sores with crusts on her face, and now she has a slight fever. Her mom thinks it might be impetigo. Does impetigo usually cause fever in children?

Honestly, I can barely keep my eyes open right now, but yes, a high fever with those skin sores means the infection is spreading. My toddler had it and the fever kept us up all night. Don't sit on it, just get the antibiotics from a doc.

I know how stressful and embarrassing it is to deal with painful skin weeping while running a fever. It really drains you emotionally. Please be gentle with yourself, this is totally curable with the right doctor's visit.

Impetigo already makes you look like a honey-crusted monster, and a fever on top of that is just unfair! Yes, it can happen if the bacteria gets cozy. Go get some doctor-approved cream so you can get your face and temperature back to normal!

Please see a doctor immediately. My grandson had impetigo and we thought the mild fever was normal, but the bacterial infection spread to his bloodstream and became very serious. Do not take skin infections lightly.

I once ignored a small skin sore and the fever that came with it, thinking it would heal on its own. It turned into a massive cellulitis infection that took weeks to cure. Please get a proper medical checkup right away before it gets worse.

My daughter just recovered from impetigo last week. She had a mild fever on the second day when the crusty sores spread near her nose. The pediatrician gave her oral antibiotics and the fever went away in 24 hours.

For mild skin rashes, neem water washes are very helpful. But impetigo with a fever is a bacterial issue and cannot be cured with just home remedies. You must use the antibiotic creams your doctor prescribes to stop it from spreading.

Impetigo is a bacterial skin infection, so while mild cases don't usually cause fever, a fever means the body is actively fighting a deeper infection. You will likely need prescription antibiotic ointment or oral antibiotics. Keep the sores clean and covered.

Keep a calm mind and do not let fear weaken your body. Fever is just a sign that your life force is fighting the illness. Rest well, eat pure food, and let the doctor guide your treatment.
