Does ibuprofen reduce fever in adults?

I'm down with a bad cold and running a fever. My usual paracetamol isn't cutting it this time. I was wondering if ibuprofen is a good option. Does ibuprofen reduce fever in adults effectively?

Yes, it works well for adults. Just make sure you have some light vegetarian food like warm dal khichdi before taking it, because ibuprofen on a completely empty stomach can cause severe acidity.

It definitely brings down the fever, but please monitor your temperature constantly. I always get so anxious when the fever spikes again after the medicine wears off, so keep a doctor's number handy just in case.

Yes, we have used it in our family for decades and it works reliably for adult fevers. Just don't overdo the dosage, drink plenty of warm water, and let your body rest and sweat it out.

Currently awake at 2 AM with a burning forehead, and yes, ibuprofen is slowly bringing my temperature down so my brain can finally shut off. It works, just make sure you have some snacks nearby.

Actually it works great for adults, yaar. Whenever I get a fever with heavy body pain, ibuprofen works much faster than normal paracetamol for me.
