Does ibuprofen help with nerve pain?

I've been suffering from terrible nerve pain in my leg after an injury, and it's making daily life difficult. The pain sometimes feels like burning. Does ibuprofen help with nerve pain, or is it only for muscle pain?

Honestly, nerve pain is the absolute worst and it completely drains you mentally. I spent nights crying because normal painkillers like ibuprofen did absolutely nothing for my nerve issues. You really need to see a specialist because they usually prescribe different, specific medications for nerves.

Please don't do what I did. I ignored my radiating leg pain for months, just swallowing ibuprofen hoping it would fix the nerve pinch, and ended up making it way worse. Go to a neurologist and get a proper diagnosis before you damage anything permanently.

I completely panicked when my lower back nerve pain started and I popped ibuprofen like candy with zero relief. I thought something was majorly wrong with me! Later my doctor explained that basic painkillers don't target nerve pathways, which is super common, so don't worry, you just need the right prescription.

Haan na, nerve pain is very tricky. Normal ibuprofen won't do much for this, ho na. Better to ask your doctor for proper nerve medicine instead of taking OTC painkillers unnecessarily.

Writing this at 3 AM because my sciatic nerve is singing songs. Spoiler alert: ibuprofen did absolutely nothing to quiet it down tonight. Save your liver the trouble and get a doc to give you the actual heavy-duty stuff.
