Does ibuprofen help tooth pain?

Suddenly got a terrible toothache last night, and it's not letting me sleep properly. I have some ibuprofen at home for my knee pain. Can I take it for tooth pain?

Yes, ibuprofen is actually one of the best over-the-counter options for tooth pain because it targets dental inflammation. However, it's just a temporary fix. You still need to book an appointment with a dentist to treat the root cause.

Ibuprofen is highly effective for reducing swelling and throbbing dental pain. While it can manage the discomfort temporarily, dental infections can spread quickly. It is highly recommended to consult your dentist for a proper diagnosis.

In my experience, ibuprofen is very reliable for dental pain and helps you get through the night. Just ensure you take it after some food, even a glass of milk, to protect your stomach. Rest well, the dentist will sort it out.

It can certainly help ease the pain temporarily, but tooth pain often indicates a deeper issue like a cavity or nerve infection. Please get it checked by a dentist as soon as possible to avoid complications.

My son had a severe toothache last week before his root canal. The dentist advised us to give him ibuprofen to manage the throbbing pain and swelling. We also kept applying a cold compress on his cheek, which helped a lot.
