Does ibuprofen help reduce fever?

My little one has a high fever since morning, and the usual paracetamol is not bringing it down fast enough. My wife was asking if we can give ibuprofen to reduce fever in kids? Just want to know if it's safe and effective.

It does help to bring down the temperature. Along with the medicine, I find that resting quietly and practicing gentle, deep breathing helps calm the nervous system. Keep yourself hydrated with warm water or herbal teas.

Yes, it works well as a fever reducer because it lowers inflammation. When I get a fever, I take it, make sure I am drinking electrolyte-rich water, and give my body total rest from workouts. Don't rush back to training until you are fully recovered.

Yes, ibuprofen has been used for fever and pain for many years. It is reliable, but should always be taken after meals. In our household, we always rely on rest and warm fluids alongside the medicine to recover fully.

Yes, it reduces fever quite effectively. But remember, a fever is just a symptom of some infection. If your temperature doesn't come down in 48 hours, stop self-treating and go see a doctor immediately.

It definitely helps get rid of the fever, which is great because I can't stand not tasting my favorite food! Just make sure you eat something light like khichdi or toast before taking it, otherwise it can cause bad acidity.

While ibuprofen does lower fever, it is always safer to get your symptoms checked by a qualified doctor. They can diagnose the root cause, whether it is viral or bacterial, and prescribe the right treatment.

It can reduce fever, but be careful. During dengue, taking NSAIDs like ibuprofen can dangerously lower your platelet count. I had a severe issue because of this last year, so please get a blood test done first and consult a physician.
