Does ibuprofen cause sleep?

Sometimes after taking ibuprofen for a headache, I feel quite drowsy and sleepy. I'm wondering if it's just me or if it's a known effect. Does ibuprofen cause sleepiness for some people?

Don't start using painkillers as sleeping pills based on what people write online. It can seriously mess up your stomach lining and kidneys. If you are having trouble sleeping, go see a proper doctor instead of experimenting.

Actually, it doesn't have any sleeping medicine in it. Maybe you feel sleepy because your pain finally stopped and you could relax! Don't stress too much, just try a warm cup of milk or some light music tonight.

I took it once for my wisdom tooth pain and honestly, I slept like a baby. But my dentist told me it's not because the medicine makes you drowsy, it just takes the pain away so your body can rest. So don't take it if you don't have pain.

As someone managing high blood pressure, I am very careful with pain medicines like ibuprofen because they can raise BP. Sleep issues are often related to stress or lifestyle. Getting regular checkups and walking daily helped me sleep much better.

I used to suffer from chronic back pain and thought ibuprofen made me sleepy, but it was just the pain relief. For sleep, try reducing screen time after 9 PM and do some deep breathing. Taking painkillers long-term for sleep is a very bad idea.

It doesn't directly cause sleepiness as it is not a sedative. I hope you find some relief and get good rest soon.

Ibuprofen won't help you sleep because it's just an anti-inflammatory. If you want better sleep quality, try tiring yourself out with a good workout during the day and keep your dinner light. It works wonders compared to any pill.

I also used to worry about every single side effect of painkillers and feel dizzy after taking them. It is completely natural to feel anxious about how your body reacts. Just talk to your pharmacist once to put your mind at ease.
