Does hydrogen peroxide kill cavities?

Got a small cavity that I really don't want to get filled. Saw a reel online saying hydrogen peroxide can kill the bacteria that cause cavities. Can hydrogen peroxide really kill cavities and stop them from growing?

Honestly, as someone who lives for sweet gulab jamuns, I have searched for every hack to save my teeth. But hydrogen peroxide won't kill or dissolve a cavity once the damage is done. You just have to bite the bullet, visit the dentist, and maybe cut down on late-night dessert cravings like I had to!

It doesn't cure dental decay. I believe in keeping the overall body healthy with good blood circulation through daily jogging or brisk walks, but for targeted issues like a tooth cavity, you absolutely need a dentist. Don't waste time on chemical rinses that might damage your gums.

I was reading up on this yesterday because of a dark spot on my molar. Turns out peroxide can only disinfect the mouth superficially but it has zero effect on the actual decayed structure. I am just going to book a regular checkup instead of trying any risky DIYs.

My daughter had a tiny cavity and I also wondered if we could treat it at home with antibacterial rinses. But our doctor explained that the bacteria are deep inside the tooth enamel where peroxide cannot reach. Please take them to a pediatric dentist before the decay spreads and starts hurting.

Don't try this at home, it might end up burning your gums and doubling your dental bills. A basic dental filling at a local government hospital or clinic is actually quite cheap, maybe 500 to 1000 rupees. Better to spend on a proper treatment now than paying for a costly root canal later because of home experiments.

At my age, I have lost a few teeth trying to delay dental visits with various home tricks. Take it from my experience, no rinse or paste can reverse a physical hole in your tooth. Go get it filled by a proper doctor while there is still time to save the tooth.
