Does hydrogen peroxide help tooth pain?

This dull toothache for two days, and it's quite bothersome. My grandmother once told me to gargle with some hydrogen peroxide solution for mouth sores. Can hydrogen peroxide also help alleviate tooth pain?

I know how terrifying tooth pain is, it literally keeps you awake worrying about major dental surgery. I panicked when my wisdom tooth started hurting and tried hydrogen peroxide rinses out of desperation. It gave a tiny bit of temporary relief by cleaning the area, but the anxiety only stopped when I finally let the dentist look at it.

Bro, don't do it, the taste is absolutely nasty and it doesn't even help much. I tried it during exams last semester to avoid going to the clinic. A simple warm salt water rinse works way better and doesn't feel like you are drinking bleach.

In my younger days, we tried all sorts of home remedies for aching teeth, including hydrogen peroxide. Take it from my experience, if there is an infection inside the root, these external rinses won't reach it. A simple clove oil dab can soothe it for a night, but you must get the tooth checked by a professional.

Haan, thoda clean toh kar deta hai area ko par pain permanent khatam nahi hota na. Actually, dental pain direct nerves se aata hai toh peroxide kya hi karega. Warm water me namak daal ke rinse karo, temporarily relief milega doctor ke paas jaane tak.

Currently typing this at 3 AM with a swollen cheek because my home remedies failed me. Let me tell you, bubbling peroxide in your mouth is not the cure for sleep deprivation or nerve pain. Save yourself the trouble, take a painkiller if your doctor allowed it, and book an appointment for tomorrow morning.

It might temporarily ease the throbbing by killing some surface germs, but please use it only in very diluted form. Tooth pain usually means there is a deep issue that needs a doctor's care. I hope your pain goes away soon, take care.
