Does hydrocortisone work on eczema?

My cousin has been having a tough time with his eczema, and he's looking for effective solutions. I remembered hearing about hydrocortisone being used for skin conditions. Does hydrocortisone actually work well for treating eczema?

It definitely gives quick relief when the itching gets too distracting during workouts. But honestly, also look at your diet and sweat triggers because creams only fix the surface. Try keeping a food diary to see if dairy or wheat is making the eczema worse.

Yeah, it actually works quite fast to calm down the itching. I track my skin flare-ups on my health app and noticed hydrocortisone cream reduces the redness within two days. Just don't overuse it on thin skin areas like your face without a doc checking it first.

I tried organic coconut oil, neem paste, and what not, but honestly, when the eczema is angry, hydrocortisone is needed to calm it down. Use the cream to stop the bleeding and raw skin first. Once it heals a bit, you can go back to your natural aloe vera or virgin coconut oil for daily maintenance.

I used to panic every time my patches got red and thought I needed some heavy prescription drugs. Then my dermatologist just gave me basic OTC hydrocortisone and it cleared up so smoothly. It is totally normal to use it for short bursts when things get itchy.

I have dealt with dry, itchy skin for forty years now and these mild steroid creams are a blessing when the weather changes. Don't worry too much about it, just use it sparingly for 3-4 days to break the itch cycle. With age, I've realized keeping the skin damp and hydrated is the real long-term cure.

My son has eczema on his elbows and our pediatrician recommended a mild hydrocortisone cream for bad flare-ups. It really helps them sleep better without scratching. Just apply a very thin layer and make sure you use a thick moisturizer over it after a few minutes.
