Does hydrocortisone help eczema?

My toddler has been suffering from stubborn patches of eczema, and nothing seems to give long-lasting relief. A family friend suggested trying hydrocortisone for it. Is hydrocortisone generally considered a good option for treating eczema, especially in young kids?

My son had bad eczema patches behind his knees. Hydrocortisone helped clear them up in three days, but we only use it for short bursts as advised by his pediatrician.

It is the only thing that stops me from scratching like a monkey during the dry winters. Just don't apply too much, a thin layer is more than enough.

Hydrocortisone is a mild corticosteroid that effectively reduces the inflammation and itching of eczema. It should be used under medical supervision, typically not exceeding two weeks continuously.

It works well, but remember that skin healing can be slower if your blood sugar is high. Keep your diabetes under control along with applying the cream.

I was so worried about steroid side effects on skin, but the mild 1% cream is actually very safe when used for just a few days. Don't worry, it really helps with the itch.

The cream is good for quick relief, but also apply pure virgin coconut oil daily to keep the skin barrier naturally moisturized. Do not let the skin stay dry.
