Does humidity make arthritis worse?

My mother-in-law always complains that her joint pain gets unbearable when it's humid outside. I've been feeling a bit more stiffness in my knees lately too, especially this past month. Does high humidity really make arthritis symptoms worse for many people?

My sister suggests applying herbal oils, but I always trust our family orthopedic doctor. He explained that humidity and pressure changes can expand tissues in the joints, leading to more stiffness. It is best to stay warm and stick to your prescribed treatment.

When the weather is humid and rainy, I just want to sit and eat hot pakoras! But the downside is my joint pain acts up big time with all this moisture. I try to balance my comfort food with some gentle stretches to keep the stiffness away.

I recently had a very bad flare-up during the peak monsoon season because of the dampness. My doctor adjusted my anti-inflammatory medications, which helped me recover. High humidity definitely makes the pain worse, so keep your joints protected.

Yes, high humidity is a very common trigger for joint pain and stiffness in arthritis patients. Keeping your living area warm and dry with an AC or heater can make a big difference. Don't hesitate to seek advice from your doctor if the pain becomes unmanageable.

It is very common for joints to ache more when the weather is damp and sticky. Please take proper rest and keep yourself comfortable during these days. I hope you feel better soon.

Our joints are like the local weather department—they start signaling pain even before the clouds arrive, haha! High humidity definitely adds to the trouble. Just keep a hot water bag close and don't let the sticky weather bring your mood down!
