Does honey cause cavities?

My daughter loves honey, and I often give it to her in milk or on bread. My mother-in-law says too much honey will cause cavities. Does honey actually cause tooth decay, even if it's natural?

I totally understand why you'd ask, as honey is always marketed as a super healthy option. But yes, it can still cause cavities because bacteria in our mouth feed on all types of sugar. Just rinse your mouth with water right after eating it.

Yes, absolutely. Honey is very sticky and contains high amounts of natural sugars. If you don't rinse your mouth or brush after consuming it, it can lead to tooth decay just like regular sugar.

Honey is a great natural sweetener, but organic or raw doesn't mean it is safe for teeth. It contains fructose and glucose which cling to enamel. Always consume it in moderation and maintain good oral hygiene.

Dekho, meetha toh meetha hota hai, chahe sugar ho ya honey. Honey sticky hota hai toh daant par chipak jata hai aur cavity karta hai. Bache ho ya bade, honey khane ke baad achhe se kulla karna mat bhoolna.

Yes, it does. According to dental health trackers, sticky sugars like honey are actually worse because they stay on the teeth longer than liquid sugars. Make sure to brush twice a day and use a floss.
