My blood pressure has been a bit high lately, and I'm very worried about the risks. Is it true that high blood pressure can cause a stroke?

Haan na, it actually is a major risk factor for stroke. High BP exerts too much pressure on our brain's delicate blood vessels. We really have to be very careful with salt and medicine, ho na.

I am dealing with hypertension myself since four years. If we do not monitor it with regular checkups and keep our weight under control, it can lead to clots and strokes. Please get your BP checked every month and follow a clean lifestyle.

My father had a minor stroke because of uncontrolled BP, so I know this very well. The key is taking your prescribed pills daily without skipping and doing thirty minutes of daily brisk walk. Cut down the pickles and papad completely to manage the sodium.

Absolutely, high BP is the number one cause of stroke. Don't wait for symptoms to show up because they usually don't until it's too late. Buy a digital BP monitor for home and get on medication if the doctor says so.

Please don't take high blood pressure lightly at all. It is literally a silent killer and can cause sudden strokes if ignored. You must get it checked by a doctor immediately to start proper medication.

As someone managing diabetes, my doctor warned me that high blood pressure makes stroke risk even worse for us. We have to keep both sugar and BP in check. Watch out for high-sodium packaged foods and processed snacks as they spike BP quickly.

Yes, chronic hypertension weakens the arterial walls over time, making them prone to rupture or blockage which leads to stroke. While lifestyle modifications help, only a qualified physician can prescribe the right dosage of anti-hypertensive drugs. Please consult a doctor.
