Does high blood pressure and diabetes go hand in hand?

My father has both high blood pressure and diabetes. I'm starting to get worried about my own health. Is it true that these two conditions often go hand in hand?

Oh god, I always worry about this too because my mother has both. They definitely seem related because high sugar can damage blood vessels over time, which then raises blood pressure. It is scary, but tracking your numbers daily and keeping emergency contacts ready really helps keep the anxiety down.

Haan, bilkul sahi baat hai, dono ka bada gehra rishta hai. Agar sugar badhega toh blood pressure par bhi asar padta hi hai, isliye doctors dono ko sath me monitor karte hain. Diet control karo aur meetha kam kijiye, nahi toh dono milkar pareshaan karenge, samjhe na?

They definitely go together and neglecting them is a huge mistake. I had borderline diabetes and thought my slightly high BP was normal for my age, so I ignored it until I suffered a minor stroke. Please get your HbA1c and BP checked regularly, don't play with your life.

Hey, they do often show up together because of lifestyle, but don't stress too much about it! It is totally manageable if you make small changes like swapping white rice for brown and going for short walks after meals. Just take it one day at a time, you've got this!

My physician explained that insulin resistance from diabetes causes arteries to lose their elasticity, which directly increases peripheral resistance and drives up blood pressure. This is why about 60% of people with diabetes also suffer from hypertension. He advised keeping a strict check on sodium intake alongside sugar levels.

Haan na, mere kaka ko bhi pehle diabetes hua aur phir do saal baad doctor ne bola BP bhi high rehta hai. Both run together because of stress and oily food habits, ho na? Hum log ab unhe roz dahi aur bina namak ka salad dete hain ghar pe.
