Does herpes cause fever?

I developed some painful blisters and now I'm also feeling a bit feverish. I'm worried it might be herpes. Does herpes infection typically cause a fever along with other symptoms?

Yes, especially during the very first outbreak, herpes can definitely cause flu-like symptoms including a fever, body aches, and swollen lymph nodes. Your body is trying hard to fight off the new viral infection. Keep yourself hydrated and speak to your doctor about antiviral meds to help manage the symptoms.

Haan, bilkul fever ho sakta hai jab pehli baar herpes ka outbreak hota hai na. Body virus se fight karti hai toh bukhar aur thakan bohot common hai. Thoda rest karo aur doctor se dava le lo.

When my daughter had a cold sore outbreak (oral herpes) for the first time, she ran a high fever and had swollen glands. We gave her plenty of fluids and soft foods because her mouth was sore. Please consult a pediatrician or general physician to get the right dosage of fever medicine.

I remember feeling so incredibly sick and scared when I had my first outbreak with a high fever and body chills. I felt like my body was failing me, but the fever did go away in a few days as the sores healed. Please be gentle with yourself, it gets much easier to manage over time.
