Does hepatitis vaccine last forever?

I got my Hepatitis B vaccination done maybe 15 years ago. Now that I'm planning to start a family, my doctor is asking about my immunity. Does the hepatitis vaccine offer lifetime protection, or do I need another dose?

Yes, the Hepatitis B vaccine generally lasts for 20 to 30 years, and for most people, it practically lasts a lifetime. I keep my overall body immunity high with regular exercise, but vaccines are the real base.

I used to ignore my vaccination records and health checks, which caused major health scares later. Even though the vaccine is supposed to last forever, please consult your doctor to see if you need a booster.

Most medical guidelines say it gives lifelong protection, but it is always safer to get a blood test done to check your antibody levels. Better to be absolutely sure than to assume.

In our old days, we didn't have these vaccines, but now the science says it protects you for almost your entire life. Eat fresh home-cooked food to keep your liver strong, and check with a doctor if you are in doubt.

It definitely lasts for decades. I got my primary series done 25 years ago and my recent blood test showed I still have excellent immunity. No need to worry about boosters unless a doctor tells you to.

When I asked my family doctor about this before traveling, she told me that the Hep B vaccine provides long-term immunity and I didn't need another shot. That was just my experience, though.

Yes, once children complete the full series, they are protected for life. As a parent, I made sure my kids got all their doses on time so we never have to worry about this in the future.
