Does hepatitis b vaccine wear off?

My son got his Hep B vaccine series when he was a child. He's now in his twenties and I'm wondering if the vaccine's protection wears off over time. Should he consider getting another dose?

Usually, the protection lasts for decades, but for people with conditions like diabetes, immunity can be slightly lower. I always keep my sugar under control with a strict low-carb diet and regularly consult my doctor to check if I need any booster doses.

I had this exact doubt last year because I got vaccinated back in 2005. I got a simple titer test done on my doctor's advice, and my immunity was still very strong. You don't need to worry, just get the blood test done to check your antibody levels.

According to most medical studies, the vaccine offers protection for at least 20 to 30 years, and often for life. However, if you are in a high-risk profession, a doctor might suggest an HBsAb blood test to check your immunity level. Consulting a general physician is the best way to be sure.

I believe in keeping the body strong with good food, amla, and giloy, but vaccines have their own job. If you feel your old vaccine is not working or if you have liver symptoms, don't sit at home trying herbal juices. Go to a doctor and get tested.

Arre, it's not like your phone battery that will drain in a day! It is designed to stick around for a very long time, usually 20+ years. So relax, you don't need a weekly recharge for this one.

Actually, my college doc told me it stays for a really long time, like almost your whole life if you took all 3 shots. I completed my course during school days. Just check your old vaccination card if u still have it.
