Does hepatitis b attack the immune system?

My uncle was recently diagnosed with Hepatitis B, and his health has really gone down since then. Someone told me this disease attacks your immune system. I'm worried if this is true and what that means for him.

From what I've read, Hepatitis B actually attacks the liver cells, not the immune system directly like HIV does. But your immune system goes into overdrive trying to fight the virus, which is what actually causes the liver inflammation.

It doesn't destroy the immune system, but treating chronic liver issues can be very expensive. Getting a simple vaccine is super cheap compared to lifelong treatment costs. Plan your family's vaccination schedule to save on future medical bills.

I tried so many herbal kadhas thinking they would boost my immunity against liver issues, but they don't cure Hep B. The virus is very smart and stays in the liver. Please stick to proper medical therapy to keep your liver safe.

Beta, the virus affects the liver, but when your body is fighting it, your overall strength goes down. You must eat fresh home-cooked food and rest well. Do not rely on home remedies for such big viral diseases; always follow the doctor.

No, it targets liver tissues specifically. However, a weak immune response can prevent the body from clearing the virus, leading to chronic infection. Skip the Google searches, get a quick blood test done, and show it to a doctor.
