Does heat and humidity affect arthritis?

My mother has been suffering from arthritis for years, and during summer, her joints really bother her. We've always wondered, does the heat and humidity affect arthritis pain for her and others?

Yes, absolutely! The sticky rainy season always makes my grandmother's knee joints go crazy. 🌧️ We just try to keep her cozy and dry, but a quick check-in with her doctor always helps her stay comfortable.

My uncle swears his joint pain acts up big time when the humidity rises before the monsoons. He blames the weather, but I tell him his love for oily, deep-fried telebhaja during rains doesn't help either! Jokes apart, the weather change is real, so do consult your doctor.

My dad has severe joint issues and the humid weather here really makes his knees swell up. The barometric pressure changes seem to play a big role. He usually gets his medication adjusted by his ortho during the monsoon season.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! It is super common for joints to feel stiff when it gets humid outside. Just try to stay in a comfortable temperature and maybe do some light stretching. Definitely talk to a doctor if the pain gets too annoying to handle.

During high humidity, the joints can swell and feel very heavy. In our household, we gently apply warm mustard oil infused with garlic on the knees, which gives some temporary relief. But remember, for proper treatment, you must visit your orthopedic doctor.
