Does heart attack run in the family?

Both my father and my paternal uncle have had heart attacks in their 50s. I'm worried about my own health now. Does heart attack run in the family, making me more susceptible?

Honestly, in my family, our love for butter chicken and sweets runs deep, but so does the history of heart attacks! Yes, genetics play a big role, but we also inherit the same oily eating habits. I'm trying to cut back on the parathas now to break the cycle.

My father and uncle both had heart attacks, and I ignored my own high cholesterol for years until I ended up needing an angioplasty. Yes, it absolutely runs in families. Please don't wait for a warning sign like I did—go get your lipid profile and cardiac checks done regularly.

I know how stressful genetic risks can be, especially since I already manage hormonal issues like PCOS. Heart health definitely has a strong genetic component, so if it runs in your family, it's best to be proactive. Talk to a cardiologist to understand your risk and monitor your health carefully.

I completely understand the constant worry and anxiety of knowing your family has a history of heart attacks—it used to keep me up at night. Yes, genetics can increase your risk, but knowing this actually helps you take preventive action. Getting regular checkups has really helped calm my anxiety.

Yeah, my dad is always telling me that my grandpa had heart trouble, so I need to watch what I eat even in college. It definitely runs in families from what I've seen. Trying to avoid eating too much junk food late at night now!
