Does head and shoulders help psoriasis?

My dermatologist diagnosed me with mild scalp psoriasis. I was wondering if Head & Shoulders, which is easily available, could be effective in managing the flakiness and itching from psoriasis. Has anyone had any experience using it for this condition?

Normal shampoos might be too harsh for scalp psoriasis and can cause more burning. I always suggest applying pure extra virgin coconut oil mixed with a little camphor to soothe the itching naturally. But for proper clinical patches, please consult a skin specialist instead of relying only on home tips.

I don't think a regular cosmetic shampoo can handle something as serious as psoriasis, honestly. When my skin gets dry and irritated, I just focus on eating cooling foods like curd and avoiding oily parathas which cause inflammation. Better to get a real medicated prescription for your scalp.

If you have busy work hours, don't waste time experimenting with supermarket shampoos for a condition like psoriasis. It won't work and you'll just delay proper healing. Book an online consultation with a dermatologist, get a targeted coal-tar shampoo, and resolve it quickly.

Having PCOS makes me prone to various skin and scalp flare-ups, so I understand how frustrating scalp issues can be. Regular anti-dandruff shampoos can sometimes irritate inflamed skin even more. It might be safer to seek advice from a dermatologist who can guide you on the right medicated options.

My dermatologist explained that while Head and Shoulders contains zinc pyrithione which helps with mild seborrheic dermatitis, it is generally ineffective for scalp psoriasis. Psoriasis is an autoimmune condition that usually requires coal tar, salicylic acid, or topical steroid shampoos. You should get a proper clinical diagnosis.

No beta, these normal shampoos from the market cannot cure a big skin disease like psoriasis. It is best to go to a good government hospital or clinic and show it to a doctor. They will give you the right ointment to apply on your head.

Psoriasis is an inflammatory condition that is closely linked to your internal system and gut health. Regular over-the-counter shampoos won't cure it. I highly recommend focusing on an anti-inflammatory diet rich in seeds, nuts, and green vegetables, and consulting a specialist.

An active lifestyle and daily walks can help reduce stress, which is a major trigger for psoriasis flare-ups. However, for direct scalp treatment, a basic cosmetic shampoo like Head and Shoulders is usually not strong enough. Ask your doctor for a specialized therapeutic shampoo.
