Does head and shoulders cause dandruff?

I've been using Head & Shoulders for some time now to keep my scalp clean. But sometimes, especially after washing, my scalp feels a bit dry and gets flaky again. Is it possible for this shampoo to actually cause dandruff in some people?

Instead of buying expensive medicated shampoos, just try a basic 150 rupee Ketoconazole shampoo from any local pharmacy first. Head and Shoulders doesn't cause dandruff, but if your scalp is very dry, its strong formula can make it flake more. Try a budget-friendly mild shampoo instead of spending on heavy brands.

I completely understand how stressful it is when you use an anti-dandruff shampoo and your scalp flakes even more. It can make you feel super self-conscious. It doesn't actually cause dandruff, but the harsh chemicals can sometimes strip your scalp's natural oils, causing dry flaking that looks like dandruff.

My teenage son had a very flaky scalp and using strong anti-dandruff shampoos daily actually made it much worse. His dermatologist told us his scalp was just extremely dry, not infected. We switched to a mild baby shampoo and oiled his hair lightly with coconut oil, and it cleared up.

Bro, same here! I thought I was getting more dandruff after using it, but actually, it just dries out your hair if you use it daily. Try using it only twice a week and use normal water, not super hot water, to wash your hair. That solved it for me.

I used to panic thinking Head and Shoulders was giving me new dandruff because I saw white flakes right after washing. But then my barber explained it was just dry scalp skin peeling off because the shampoo is quite strong. I started using a good conditioner and it's totally normal now.
