Does having heat stroke make you more susceptible?

Had a pretty bad heat stroke last summer after playing cricket for hours. Now I'm worried about this upcoming summer season. Does having a heat stroke once make you more susceptible to getting it again in the future?

I totally get it, the heat is absolutely brutal these days and worrying about this makes complete sense. After a heat stroke, your body takes quite some time to fully heal its internal cooling mechanism. Please rest as much as you can and try not to step out during peak afternoon hours.

Haan yaar, this is actually true. If you get a severe heat stroke once, your body's temperature regulation system gets a bit weak for a few weeks, na. So you have to be extra careful in the sun for the next couple of months. Thoda dhyan rakhna padega, keep drinking nimbu paani.

I completely understand why you're asking this, I used to panic constantly about heat exhaustion after I fainted once in summer. It is true that your body remains sensitive to heat for some days after an episode. Try not to stress too much, just keep yourself well hydrated and stay indoors till you feel stronger.

Oh absolutely, your body needs time to bounce back! When I had dehydration last summer, I couldn't even look at heavy food for days. I survived entirely on chilled lassi, sweet curd, and watermelon. Just keep eating cooling foods and give your system a break from the heat.

It is really scary when your body just shuts down from the heat, and the fear of it happening again is very real. I struggled with severe weakness and anxiety for weeks after my heat stroke. Your body really does stay vulnerable for a while, so please don't push yourself and take all the rest you need.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! It's true that you're a bit more sensitive to hot weather right after a heat stroke, but it's not permanent. Just carry a water bottle everywhere, wear loose clothes, and you'll be absolutely fine in a few weeks. Take it easy!
