Does hashimoto's cause pain?

I have Hashimoto's and sometimes I experience unexplained joint pain and muscle aches, which can be quite bothersome. My doctor said it could be related. Does Hashimoto's typically cause pain or body aches as a symptom?

Yes, joint and muscle pain are very common with Hashimoto's due to chronic inflammation. I managed mine by cutting down on processed sugars and doing light stretching every morning. Don't push yourself too hard on high-pain days; rest is also a form of treatment.

When I was first diagnosed decades ago, the constant body aches made me feel much older than I was. But let me reassure you, once you find the right dosage of thyroid hormone with your doctor, these pains reduce significantly. Just keep moving gently.

Sometimes the body pain is so bad that even getting out of bed feels like a mountain task, and people think you are just being lazy. It is incredibly exhausting and lonely. Your pain is real, and it's okay to feel upset about it—just take it one day at a time.

Having PCOS makes me very prone to inflammation, and I know Hashimoto's patients deal with similar deep muscle aches. I try not to give direct medical advice, but gentle heat pads and staying hydrated help a bit. Definitely discuss this pain with your doctor to rule out other issues.

Yes, I get terrible stiffness in my fingers and wrists because of Hashimoto's. What works practically for me is keeping a warm hot water bag nearby during my office hours. It really takes the edge off the pain so I can work.

Oh, absolutely! Hashimoto's makes you feel like an old creaky gate that needs oiling every morning. My knees literally sing songs of pain when it's cold. But hey, a warm bath and some good music usually calms down the drama!
