Does hand foot and mouth always start with a fever?

My son just got diagnosed with Hand Foot and Mouth, but he never really had a fever initially; the rashes just appeared. I thought it always starts with a high temperature. Is it possible for Hand Foot and Mouth to begin without a fever?

Honestly, it was so stressful when my kid got this because there was no fever at first, just sudden crankiness. I kept second-guessing myself until the spots appeared on the hands. It is totally normal to feel anxious, but please know it doesn't always start with a high temperature.

Not always bro. I caught this from my nephew last year and the blisters came out of nowhere on my palms first. The mild fever actually started a day later for me, so don't wait for a fever to suspect it.

My immunity was quite high but I still got it without any fever at all. I just noticed my throat felt scratchy and I couldn't swallow my post-workout shake properly. Keep your hydration levels high with coconut water even if you don't feel warm.

Actually yaar, my friend's daughter had zero fever. They just saw tiny red spots on her feet and thought it was some insect bite. Go to a doctor directly because HFMD is super tricky and spreads like wild fire.

I haven't slept in three days because my toddler has this. For us, the spots showed up first and the fever decided to arrive at 2 AM last night just to ruin whatever sleep I had left. It definitely does not follow any set rules.
