Does hand foot and mouth always have a fever?

My toddler has some rashes on her hands and feet, and a few sores in her mouth, which looks like Hand Foot and Mouth disease. But she doesn't have a fever. Does this condition always come with a fever, or can it occur without one?

No, it is not necessary to have a fever every time. My neighbor's son just had mild spots on his hands and feet with no temperature at all. Just keep the child isolated and wash their toys with warm water to prevent the virus from spreading.

I ignored the mild red spots on my kid's palms thinking it was just a normal heat rash since there was no fever. It turned out to be HFMD, and because I didn't isolate him early, the whole playschool caught it. If you see any sudden blisters, please go get it checked by a pediatrician immediately.

When our child was diagnosed with Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease, the pediatrician at our hospital clearly told us that fever only occurs in some cases. You should ask your doctor clearly about the symptoms to monitor, especially if the child stops drinking fluids.

Haan na, HFMD can happen without any fever also. Sometimes kids only get a slight sore throat and then the small blisters show up. It is best to give them soft, cool foods like curd or ice cream to soothe their mouth.

Hey, don't stress too much if there's no fever, it actually happens quite often with HFMD. Just make sure they stay hydrated with coconut water or juices. It usually runs its course in a few days anyway.

My little cousin had HFMD last week and she was running around playing like normal, with zero fever. We only noticed it when we saw red spots on her feet. It was honestly quite surprising.

Listen, fever is just the body's way of fighting the virus, but sometimes the infection is mild and passes without a temp. Don't worry, just keep the child hydrated and make sure they rest. If they complain of severe throat pain, take them to the doctor.

I actually caught this from my nephew last month, and trust me, I had absolutely no fever. Just had these super itchy, annoying blisters on my palms and sole. It took about a week to clear up on its own.

It is completely normal to have HFMD without a fever, so don't get anxious. Just focus on keeping their nails short so they don't scratch the blisters and cause secondary infections. Keep them comfortable, and this phase will pass safely.

In my personal experience with my two kids, one had a very high fever for two days before the rash appeared, while the other only had mild mouth sores and no fever at all. The symptoms can vary wildly from child to child.
