Does gout cause kidney stones?

My brother-in-law suffers from both gout and kidney stones. I'm curious if having gout increases the risk of developing kidney stones, or if they are separate issues.

Yes, it is true because the same uric acid that causes gout can also crystallize in your kidneys and form stones. Drinking at least 3 liters of water daily is highly recommended.

When our body's internal balance is disturbed, it shows up as gout and stones. Keep your mind calm, drink pure water, and focus on healing your body naturally. Take care of your health, everything will be fine.

Dealing with chronic health issues like thyroid has taught me that everything in our body is connected. High uric acid can definitely lead to painful kidney stones, so you must get your kidney function and uric acid levels tested regularly. Do regular follow-ups with your physician.

I had both gout and a 6mm kidney stone last year, and the pain was unbearable. Drinking barley water (jowar/jau ka pani) daily helped me a lot in flushing out the uric acid naturally. But please continue your doctor's medicine along with these simple remedies.

In our family, we use freshly squeezed lemon juice in warm water to prevent stones from forming due to gout. Lemon has citrate which helps break down the acid. But remember to avoid heavy lentils and spinach as they can increase the problem.
