Does glucosamine help arthritis?

My knees are very painful with arthritis, especially in the mornings. My neighbour swears by glucosamine for joint relief. Does glucosamine actually help arthritis, or is it more of a placebo effect?

It definitely helped my mother-in-law with her knee stiffness! She can walk much better now. Just give it some time to work as it is not an overnight magic pill! 😊

My father has osteoarthritis and his doctor prescribed this. It helped reduce his pain to some extent after a few weeks. Hope you find relief soon.

I was actually researching this for my dad yesterday. Some medical articles say it works wonders for mild knee arthritis, while others say results vary. I think it is worth discussing with an ortho doc to see if it suits your specific stage.

Look, don't stress too much about the joint stiffness. Glucosamine works for a lot of people by keeping cartilage healthy, but it takes time. Talk to your doc, start the course, and let it do its job slowly.

It can offer some support to the joints, but do not rely on pills alone. Along with the supplement my doctor suggested, practicing Sukshma Vyayama and gentle joint rotations daily helped restore my knee mobility.

When my doctor first suggested it, I panicked thinking my arthritis was getting severe. But honestly, it is a very common supplement to support joint fluid. It took about a month, but the cracking sound in my knees has definitely gone down.
