Does glucosamine and chondroitin help arthritis?

My knees have been bothering me a lot lately due to arthritis. My wife heard that glucosamine and chondroitin supplements might help with the pain and joint stiffness. Do glucosamine and chondroitin really help arthritis?

Many people find some relief from joint stiffness by taking these supplements. However, they take a few weeks to show results, so please consult your doctor first.

My knees used to make a lot of noise and hurt when I sat on the floor. A doctor in the city hospital gave me these tablets, and after two months, my joints feel much softer and lighter. Do ask your doctor about them.

Please be careful with these supplements. I took them for my knee pain but had severe stomach irritation and a spike in my blood sugar levels. You must get your blood sugar checked and consult a proper specialist before starting them.

I have been using these joint supplements on and off for the past ten years for my osteoarthritis. They won't magically make you run like a youngster, but they definitely help reduce that constant morning stiffness. Give them some time to work.

While glucosamine is popular for joint health, clinical studies show mixed results regarding its effectiveness. You should get a proper X-ray and blood tests done to confirm the stage of your arthritis before self-medicating with supplements.

Yes, they work, but they aren't painkillers. They help rebuild cartilage over a period of 3 to 6 months. If you expect instant relief, you are looking at the wrong thing. Consult an orthopedic doctor for a structured plan.

They are decent for joint lubrication, but don't ignore strength training. Strengthening the quadriceps and hamstrings around your knees through light weight exercises is what actually reduces arthritis load. Keep moving and stay active!

I tried warm oil massages, turmeric milk, and fenugreek seeds for my joint pain, which gave temporary relief. Adding glucosamine tablets under my doctor's prescription really helped improve the flexibility of my knees. Combining home care with proper medicine is the best approach.

These joint supplements can be quite expensive if you buy them long-term. I suggest getting a proper diagnostic test first to see if you actually need them, rather than wasting money on multiple brands. Plan your medical expenses wisely.

They basically act like grease for our squeaky old joints! Don't expect to start doing gymnastics immediately, but your knees will definitely stop sounding like a rusty gate when you climb stairs. Just check with your doc first!
