Does gestational diabetes come from the dad?

My husband's family has a history of diabetes, and now I have gestational diabetes. My mother-in-law keeps saying it's because of his side of the family. Does gestational diabetes come from the dad's genes or family history?

No, it doesn't come directly from the husband. It actually happens because of the pregnancy hormones from the placenta interfering with your insulin. Don't worry, your partner is not the cause of this!

No, gestational diabetes is not inherited from the father. It is caused by placental hormones blocking insulin action in the mother's body. Focus on regular blood tests and diet control instead of worrying about the source.

Actually no yaar, dad's genes don't trigger gestational diabetes directly. It is purely a hormonal issue in the mother's body during those nine months. Don't take tension, just manage the diet and it will be fine.

I remember crying so much when I got diagnosed, thinking maybe my husband's family history of diabetes caused it. But my gynecologist gently explained that it's just my own placenta playing tricks on my body. Please don't blame yourself or look for a reason, it's just a temporary phase.

No way, biology doesn't work like that haha. My bhabhi had this and the doc explained it's all about how the mother's body reacts to pregnancy hormones. Dad has nothing to do with it directly.
