Does gatorade help with vomiting?

Having bouts of vomiting since morning, and finding it hard to keep anything down. My friend suggested sipping on Gatorade to rehydrate. Is it generally helpful for settling the stomach and reducing vomiting, or should it be avoided?

I have been vomiting since morning and am scared of getting dehydrated. Does Gatorade actually stay down, or does the sweet flavor make you feel more nauseous? I really want to know if it helped anyone else.

It definitely helps to restore electrolytes after you have thrown up everything. But honestly, if you cannot even keep water down, no drink is going to help. You should go to a clinic and get an injection to stop the vomiting first.

I can only tell you what worked for me during a bad stomach bug. I found sports drinks a bit too sweet to tolerate when throwing up, so I switched to warm barley water and light rice kanji. Everyone's stomach reacts differently to sweet fluids when sick.

While it can replenish lost salts, it is not the ideal choice. Standard ORS is medically formulated to have the perfect balance of sodium and glucose for rehydration during vomiting. If you do use Gatorade, dilute it with equal parts of water to reduce the sugar concentration.

Bro, when I had food poisoning, regular water tasted terrible and I kept throwing up. Sipping chilled Gatorade slowly was the only thing that helped me get some energy back. Just take tiny sips, don't gulp it down all at once.

In our days, we only had simple salty nimbu paani or coconut water for vomiting, and they still work beautifully. There is no need to run behind bottled drinks. Just rest your stomach for an hour after vomiting, then slowly start taking small spoonfuls of fluids.

When my kids are vomiting, I avoid Gatorade because the high sugar content can sometimes upset their stomachs even more and cause loose motions. I always stick to standard Electral ORS dissolved in boiled and cooled water. It is much safer and designed specifically for recovery.
