Does formaldehyde cause cancer?

I was reading an article about certain chemicals found in household products and beauty items. Formaldehyde was mentioned as a potentially harmful substance. Does exposure to formaldehyde really cause cancer, and should I be concerned?

Yeah, we read about this in chemistry. It is actually classified as a known human carcinogen, especially if you are exposed to high amounts over a long time in industries. Pretty scary stuff honestly.

I used to work in a plywood manufacturing unit where we used adhesives containing formaldehyde, and we were always warned about the cancer risks. We had to wear proper heavy-duty masks all the time to avoid inhaling it.

I panicked so much when I read about formaldehyde in furniture and cosmetics! But actually, the danger is mainly for factory workers with massive, daily exposure. The tiny amounts in daily life won't harm us, so don't stress too much.

Look, yes it is a carcinogen. But unless you are working in a lab or chemical factory daily without a mask, you don't need to lose sleep over it. Just buy good quality furniture and keep your house airy.

Yes, high and prolonged exposure to formaldehyde is linked to nasal cancers and leukemia. If you are worried about home furniture, just keep your rooms well-ventilated. Hope this helps put your mind at ease.

Yes, it is classified as a carcinogen by WHO and other cancer research agencies. Don't rely on random internet forums to gauge your risk level; if you have occupational exposure, consult an occupational health specialist for proper guidelines.

Sometimes chemical preservatives are used illegally in fish or fruits to keep them fresh, which is very dangerous. That is why I always prefer buying organic, fresh local produce and washing everything thoroughly before eating.
