Does fluoride help with cavities?

My kids' dentist keeps emphasizing fluoride toothpaste. I want to make sure I'm doing the best for their teeth. Does fluoride genuinely help with cavities, or are there other more effective methods?

Yes, it definitely does. My dentist explained that fluoride works by remineralizing the tooth enamel, which actually reverses early stages of tooth decay before a cavity can fully form.

Yes, it really does help! I used to get cavities so often, but once I started using a fluoride mouthwash and toothpaste regularly, my dental checkups became much better.

I am just starting to learn about dental health properly. Does using fluoride toothpaste daily really prevent cavities, or do we need some special dental treatments too?
