Does fasting help kidney function?

My mother has some kidney issues, and we're always looking for ways to support her health. I read that fasting might be beneficial for kidney function. Is there any truth to this, or is it better to maintain a regular eating pattern for kidney health?

I have high BP since 8 years, and my doctor always says kidney health depends on keeping BP in control, not on fasting. In fact, staying dehydrated during long fasts can put more pressure on your kidneys. Please get your serum creatinine tested regularly and eat low-salt food.

Honestly, I barely manage to sleep 5 hours a night and my whole body feels messed up, so fasting is out of question for me. I think our organs just need basic water, sleep, and peace. If you fast and stay awake stressing, your body won't thank you anyway!

Before trying any trend like fasting, spend 300-400 rupees on a Kidney Function Test (KFT) to know your actual status. If kidneys have any issues, fasting can be risky due to electrolyte changes. Better to spend a little on doctor consultation first rather than facing huge hospital bills later.

Haan na, fasting is not very safe for kidneys if we don't drink enough water. Kidneys need hydration to flush out toxins, ho na. So please don't do dry fasting, and better to ask a doctor first.

Actually fasting can sometimes strain the kidneys due to dehydration. Please consult a doctor before trying it.
