Does ezetimibe cause muscle pain?

Since I started taking Ezetimibe for my cholesterol, I've noticed a new ache in my muscles, especially in my legs. I'm wondering if this muscle pain could be a side effect of the medicine. Is this a common issue?

Yes, some of these modern cholesterol tablets can cause muscle stiffness or aches. In our family, we use a light warm mustard oil massage for relief, but you must not ignore this. Inform your doctor because they might need to change your dosage.

My uncle started taking this drug and was complaining about severe leg cramps during his evening walks. His doc told him it is a known side effect and switched his medicine. Definitely get it checked if it's bugging you.

According to medical sites, muscle pain (myalgia) is a rare side effect of Ezetimibe alone, but the risk goes up significantly when combined with statins. It is definitely something to watch out for if you are on dual therapy for cholesterol.

I panicked so much when my thighs started aching a week after starting Ezetimibe! But my doctor explained it was a mild initial reaction and gave me a coenzyme Q10 supplement which helped completely. It is very manageable, so don't worry.

As a long-time blood pressure patient, I know lipid-lowering drugs can cause muscle fatigue. It is very important to get a CPK blood test if you experience persistent muscle pain. Keep a close watch on your lifestyle and consult your cardiologist regularly.

Honestly, I wake up with muscle pain just from sleeping in the wrong position! But yes, Ezetimibe is known to cause body aches for some. If you feel like you ran a marathon without actually moving from your bed, it's time to call your doctor.

Haan, muscle pain can definitely happen with these medicines, especially if you take them with statins, na? My father had severe leg pain and the doctor had to adjust his prescription. Don't suffer in silence, just talk to your doctor.
