Does extra strength tylenol help you sleep?

Since last few weeks, my sleep cycle has been quite disturbed because of work stress. A colleague mentioned taking something like extra strength Tylenol to help sleep better. Is this actually a good idea, ya phir it's just a myth?

Using expensive painkillers regularly just to sleep is going to cost you a lot in terms of both money and liver health. Instead, invest a small amount in a basic medical checkup to find the real reason for your insomnia. A simple magnesium supplement or herbal tea is much cheaper and safer.

Beta, taking heavy medicines for sleep is not a good habit. When I couldn't sleep in my younger days, my mother used to give me warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg. Try natural ways first; these strong pills have side effects that show up as you grow older.

Tylenol is a pain reliever, not a sleeping pill. Unless pain is the specific reason keeping you awake, taking extra strength acetaminophen is completely pointless and bad for your liver. If you have chronic insomnia, go talk to a sleep specialist directly.

Don't trust people on social media who tell you to take painkillers for sleep. Paracetamol overdose is one of the leading causes of liver damage. Always check with a certified doctor before taking any medication that wasn't prescribed to you.

I used to do this when my head would hurt from exam stress, but honestly, it only helps you sleep if you are in actual pain. If you're just restless, try doing a 10-minute bedtime meditation or keeping your phone away. It works way better than pills!

Please avoid taking chemical pain relievers just to fall asleep. Often, poor sleep is due to late heavy dinners or too much caffeine. Try having a light dinner of boiled vegetables and Chamomile tea before bed instead of relying on heavy pills.
