Does exercise increase liver enzymes?

I recently had a blood test and my liver enzymes were slightly elevated. I'm also quite active and work out regularly. I'm wondering if intense exercise can sometimes cause a temporary increase in liver enzyme levels?

Yes, heavy muscle strain causes enzymes to leak into your blood, showing a false spike on your LFT report. Rest for at least 3-4 days before getting your liver blood tests done to get an accurate reading.

My grandmother said to take some herbs, but my doctor explained that intense weight training can temporarily raise AST and ALT levels due to muscle soreness. It is completely normal, but do follow your doctor's advice on when to take tests.

Managing diabetes means I get regular blood tests done. I noticed my liver enzymes spiked after a heavy leg workout day. Now I always do light walking and avoid strenuous lifting before my blood draws.

When my thyroid was unstable, my liver enzymes also fluctuated. Exercise can cause a temporary rise if you overdo it. It is always wise to get regular follow-ups with your doctor to understand the exact cause.

I got so scared after seeing my report that I stopped eating all my favorite street foods! But my doctor laughed and said it was just my heavy gym session from the previous day. Still, eating clean is good.

Yes, a very heavy workout can sometimes cause a temporary spike in these enzymes. Just rest well and don't worry too much.

Don't assume any high enzyme level is just from exercise. I ignored my high reports thinking it was from gym workouts, but it turned out to be a viral infection. Get it diagnosed by a physician properly.

I was crying when I saw my elevated liver values after starting my fitness program. But my doctor reassured me that it is just a normal reaction of muscles to new stress. They returned to normal soon, so please don't panic.

I panicked last month because my SGOT and SGPT levels were double the limit after I started gymming. My doctor told me to rest for a week and retest, and they came back absolutely normal. Muscle damage was the culprit.

During my checkup at Fortis, the physician clearly told me that heavy weightlifting causes micro-tears in muscles, which raises ALT levels. Always tell your doctor if you have exercised intensely before the blood test.

Strenuous physical activity can indeed cause a transient increase in liver aminotransferases because of skeletal muscle breakdown. To rule out any actual liver pathology, it is best to consult your doctor for a proper clinical evaluation.

Haan na, heavy gym sessions can actually make your reports look a bit scary. It is better to do thoda light exercises a day before your blood test so the reports come out clean. Talk to your doc once.
