Does exercise improve mental health?

Been feeling a bit down and stressed out with studies and job hunt lately. My counselor recommended incorporating more physical activity. Does exercise really have a direct positive impact on one's mental well-being and mood?

Yes, moving your body releases happy hormones which naturally lower daily stress and anxiety levels. Try to walk for 20 minutes in the morning light; it is a very practical way to lift your mood.

It definitely does. With my heavy work schedule, even a quick 15-minute home workout session helps clear my brain fog and reduces frustration. You don't need hours, just a short break to move.

Waking up early and walking in the park under the trees is the best natural medicine for a worried mind. Combine it with simple pranayama and you will feel very calm and stable throughout the day.

Haan yaar, jab bhi dimaag kharab ho ya tension ho, gym jaake thoda sweat out kar lo. It really clears the head and makes you feel positive, na? Try it once.

My daughter was feeling very anxious during her board exams last year. I started taking her out for badminton every evening for just half an hour, and it really helped her relax and stay happy.

I tried to force myself to do heavy workouts to cure my severe anxiety, but it only led to physical exhaustion and panic attacks. If your mental distress is severe, please see a professional psychiatrist first.

Don't blindly believe that just walking will cure chronic depression or clinical anxiety. While exercise is a good supportive tool, please verify your symptoms with a qualified doctor or therapist for proper care.
