Does exercise help with sleep apnea?

My doctor recently told me I have sleep apnea, and it's affecting my energy levels during the day. He suggested making some lifestyle changes. I'm wondering if regular exercise can actually help improve my sleep apnea symptoms.

Please be careful, sleep apnea can sometimes be a sign of underlying heart strain. Before starting any intensive fitness routine, get a proper sleep study (polysomnography) done and consult a specialist.

Yes, regular exercise helps reduce neck fat, which is often a major trigger for blocked airways during sleep. I barely have time with my corporate schedule, but even a 25-minute brisk walk daily has improved my night breathing.

Sleep clinic tests are very expensive these days, so starting with free daily walking and home breathing exercises is a very practical first step. If things don't improve in a month, then plan your budget for a specialist visit.

Regular physical activity strengthens the upper airway muscles, which reduces daytime sleepiness and snoring. Try doing some simple throat exercises along with daily brisk walking for best practical results.

Due to my PCOS, weight management is really hard, which sometimes affects my sleep quality too. Regular gentle exercise has helped me sleep a bit better, but please don't expect it to magically cure severe apnea overnight.

My uncle had this loud snoring and breathing gap issue. He started cycling every morning and lost a bit of weight, and my aunt says his snoring has actually reduced a lot. Keeping active definitely helps.

Absolutely, shedding excess weight through regular cardio and strength training directly reduces the severity of sleep apnea. Don't rely only on machines; fixing your weight is the most logical long-term solution.

My doctor warned me that untreated sleep apnea can shoot up my blood pressure. Exercising regularly has helped me control both my weight and my BP. Keep getting your blood pressure checked regularly.
