Does exercise help mental health?

Sometimes I feel very low and anxious, especially with work pressure. My friends keep telling me to go for a run or do yoga, saying it's good for my mind. I'm curious, does exercise really help improve mental health and reduce stress?

Actually yaar, whenever I feel super stressed with work, I just go for a quick run. It really clears the mind. Even a 20-minute workout works like magic to lift your mood when everything feels too heavy.

Yes, exercise releases endorphins which are proven to improve mood and reduce stress. However, if you are struggling with severe anxiety or depression, physical activity is a great support tool, but a therapist's professional guidance is always best.

In our older days, waking up early to walk in the fresh morning air and doing simple meditation kept the mind calm. Staying close to nature and keeping the body active is the best medicine for mental peace.

My thyroid levels used to cause terrible mood swings and exhaustion, making it hard to exercise. But slowly starting light workouts helped balance my mind. Just make sure to get your thyroid checked regularly too, as physical fatigue can affect mental state.

I often feel too anxious and unmotivated to even get out of bed, let alone work out. Has anyone else felt that exercising actually made them feel more overwhelmed initially? I want to try but feel quite stuck.
