Does exercise affect mental health?

Lately, I've been feeling quite stressed and low, mostly because of work pressure. A friend told me that exercise can really help with mental health. I'm curious if there's a strong link between exercising and feeling better mentally.

It really does help, but sometimes I feel too anxious and overwhelmed even to start exercising. Does anyone else feel like they want to work out for their mental peace but just can't find the energy to get out of bed?

Yes, it definitely helps. When I struggle with my PCOS mood swings and anxiety, even a simple 20-minute walk helps calm my mind. Don't push yourself too hard, just find any light movement that makes you feel good and happy.

Working out releases endorphins, which are natural mood lifters. If your doctor allows, start with 30 minutes of brisk walking or light jogging daily. The mental clarity you get after a good workout is unmatched.

In my youth, we didn't talk much about mental health, but looking back, my daily cycling was what kept me sane during stressful years. Physical movement is the best natural therapy for your brain, take it from my experience.

Waking up early and doing simple deep breathing exercises in fresh air is very good for calming a restless mind. Along with this, eating fresh, home-cooked food and sleeping on time will keep your mental health very stable.

You don't need expensive gym memberships or therapy to improve your mood. Just walking in a nearby public park or doing free yoga videos at home works wonders and costs absolutely nothing. Keep it simple and practical.

I have been feeling very down lately and want to try exercising to feel better. Is it better to do morning walks or should I try some light stretching at home first? I am a bit shy to go to a gym.
