Does everybody have dandruff?

I've been dealing with dandruff on and off for a while, and it's quite frustrating. Does literally everyone experience dandruff at some point, or is it something only some people get?

Not really. Almost everyone has the fungus that causes it on their scalp, but only some people react to it and get actual dandruff flakes. If you have it, just use a good ketoconazole shampoo twice a week.

I totally get it, dealing with dandruff is so embarrassing and annoying. But don't worry, many people have naturally balanced scalps that never flake. It's just a matter of finding the right hair care routine for your skin type.

I used to have terrible dandruff last winter while my roommate's scalp was totally clean. I finally cured it by washing regularly and not letting oil sit on my scalp overnight. It's definitely not something everyone has to live with.

Our bodies respond to stress and nature's changes differently. Keep your mind calm, wash your hair with mild natural cleansers, and take care of your body. Dandruff will clear up once the internal balance is restored.

My dermatologist explained that the Malassezia fungus lives on almost all adult scalps, but dandruff only develops when there is excess sebum production or an inflammatory reaction. So genetically, not everyone gets it. Proper scalp hygiene is key.

I can only share what worked for me—I stopped heavy oiling because it was feeding my dandruff, and switched to a mild clarifying shampoo. My dandruff completely disappeared after that.
