Does epsom salt help psoriasis?
I've been dealing with psoriasis for many years now, and it's quite uncomfortable. I've heard some people find relief with Epsom salt soaks. Can Epsom salt actually help improve psoriasis symptoms?

I looked this up for a cousin, and honestly, some people say it helps lift the dead skin scales, but it can also dry you out completely. Maybe don't try it without asking a skin doc first, sounds risky.
I tried using lukewarm water with a tiny bit of epsom salt to ease the itching, and it did help remove some dry scales. But you must apply a thick layer of coconut oil or heavy moisturizer immediately after. Otherwise, the dryness makes the psoriasis flare up even worse.
Skin issues often respond well when we reduce our mental stress and stay calm. A gentle, lukewarm bath can be comforting, but keep your thoughts positive and do not stress over the scales. Take care of your health gently.
I have PCOS which sometimes triggers skin inflammation, so I am always very cautious about what I put on my body. Epsom salt might work for some to soothe itching, but skin can be so unpredictable. It is always better to test a tiny patch first or check with your doctor.

Instead of buying expensive bath salts, simple things like applying warm olive oil or mustard oil on the dry patches works very well. If you still want to try epsom salt, just buy a small local pack from the chemist first to see if it suits you.
