Does epsom salt help muscle pain?

After my gym sessions, I often get really sore muscles. Someone told me to try soaking in an Epsom salt bath. Is it true that Epsom salt helps with muscle pain and recovery?

Honestly, pouring a cup of epsom salt in hot water is my weekly ritual just to survive the exhaustion of sleepless nights. It genuinely helps relax tense shoulders and back muscles. Highly recommend it if you just want to melt away the fatigue.

Does anyone else feel a bit dizzy or too hot after an epsom salt bath? I really want to use it for my calf muscle pain, but I am scared of soaking for too long. How many minutes is generally safe?

I use warm water with a little epsom salt to soothe my sore legs after my daily evening walks. However, since I have high BP, I avoid very hot or full-body hot baths as they can sometimes affect heart rate. Keeping a simple lifestyle and light walks helps the most.

While an epsom salt soak is a great home remedy for muscle soreness after exercise, persistent pain shouldn't be ignored. If the pain doesn't subside in a couple of days, please consult a physiotherapist or doctor to rule out any muscle strain or injury.

Yes, it definitely helps because the magnesium is absorbed through the skin, which helps relax muscle fibers. Just dissolve about a cup in a bucket of warm water and soak. Make sure you don't use boiling hot water as it can dehydrate you.
