Does emetrol stop vomiting?

My little one often gets motion sickness on long car rides and sometimes vomits. My mother suggested Emetrol as a remedy. Does Emetrol actually stop vomiting effectively in children or adults?

My family doctor mentioned that Emetrol works by relaxing the stomach muscle contractions using a phosphoric acid and carbohydrate solution. However, if the vomiting is due to a severe bacterial infection, you might need antibiotics instead.

I panicked so much when my stomach upset started and nothing was working. But Emetrol actually helped settle my stomach quite quickly. It is reassuring to know it works, but do rest and drink water.

I can only speak from my own experience. It worked well for my mild nausea last summer, but when I had proper food poisoning, it didn't help much. Everyone's body reacts differently to it.

Please don't just rely on over-the-counter syrups to stop vomiting. I once kept taking OTC meds for vomiting, ignored the real issue, and ended up severely dehydrated in the hospital. Go see a doctor to find the root cause.

I have never used Emetrol before. Is it safe for adults with sensitive stomachs, or does it cause drowsiness? I would appreciate if someone could share.

Nausea and vomiting can be so exhausting and emotionally draining, I completely feel you. Emetrol did help calm my stomach down during a bad phase, but please take care and don't push yourself too hard.
