Does eczema just pop up?

I've never had any skin issues, and suddenly last week, I woke up with this red, itchy patch on my leg. Could it be eczema, or does eczema just pop up out of nowhere like that, even in adulthood?

Yes, it can suddenly appear due to high stress levels or environmental changes, much like how blood pressure can spike. It's a sign that your body is reacting to something, so getting a full checkup is always a good idea.

Haan yaar, it literally just pops up overnight sometimes! One day your skin is totally fine, and the next day there is a red itchy patch out of nowhere, na? It is usually triggered by weather changes.

It can definitely flare up suddenly if your immune system is down. Keeping active with light exercises or daily walks helps boost immunity, which can keep these sudden flares in check. Just check with your doctor if sweating might trigger it.

Haan na, it is so sudden! You don't even realize and suddenly you have dry patches on your hands. It usually happens when the weather changes or if you use a new soap, ho na?

My eczema flares up suddenly whenever my thyroid levels fluctuate. If you are getting sudden, unexplained skin issues, it is very important to get your routine blood tests done and follow up with your doctor.

If a rash suddenly pops up and spreads rapidly, it is extremely important to get it checked by a dermatologist. It could be an acute allergic reaction or contact dermatitis, which needs proper medical evaluation.

Over my fifty years of dealing with this, I have seen it pop up suddenly during season transitions, especially when winter starts. But don't worry, it settles down just as quickly once you start moisturizing regularly.
