Does eczema get worse with heat?

During summer, my eczema patches on my inner elbows become really irritated and itchy. I notice it's worse when I'm sweating or in very humid conditions. Does eczema get worse with heat and humidity?

I am new to this and my skin has started itching a lot since the summer began. Does sweating make eczema flare up too, or is it just the dry heat? I would love to know how you all handle summers.

Yes, extreme heat can disturb our body's natural balance and make the skin irritable. Keep your mind calm, drink lots of water, and trust that your body will heal. Take good care of yourself.

My dermatologist explained that sweat contains sodium which can severely irritate eczema-prone skin during hot weather. He advised me to take quick cool showers immediately after sweating and use a light lotion instead of thick winter creams.

Oh absolutely, summer is a nightmare for my skin and I get so anxious about stepping out in the sun. The sweat just sits on the skin and starts a terrible itch loop. Please try to stay in cool environments as much as you can.

Yes, high temperatures and sweating are major triggers. I track my workouts and make sure to wear light, breathable cotton clothes so sweat doesn't clog my pores. Keeping your indoor temperature regulated really helps.
